How much does furniture assembly cost?

Furniture assembly in the Upstate is priced flat per item, with the final number driven mostly by the size and part count of each piece.

Three things move the number:

  • Size and part count: a nightstand is a quick build; a large wardrobe or a bunk bed has hundreds of pieces and takes real time.
  • Wall anchoring: anti-tip anchoring, TV mounts, and floating shelves add a little to the job.
  • Quantity: booking several pieces in one visit lowers the per-item price, and most of our furniture jobs are a room's worth at once.

Send us a photo of your box or the model number and we'll give you a firm, same-day quote. No guesswork, no surprise fees.

What We Assemble

What furniture do you assemble?

We assemble just about anything that comes flat-packed or boxed:

  • Bedroom furniture Beds and bunk beds, headboards, dressers, wardrobes, and nightstands, assembled solid and squared, with tall pieces anchored to the wall so nothing tips.
  • Office and desk furniture Desks, standing desks, office chairs, bookcases, and filing cabinets. Setting up a home office or a whole workspace? We'll build the lot and haul the boxes away.
  • Living, dining, and outdoor Entertainment centers, TV stands, dining sets, bar stools, shelving, and patio furniture. Indoor or out, we build it where it's going to live.

Do you assemble furniture from any store?

Any brand, from any retailer, whether it came from IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon, or a furniture showroom. The ones we see most often include:

IKEA: PAX, KALLAX, MALM, BILLY and the rest of the flat-pack catalog Wayfair & Amazon: the big online sellers Ashley, Pottery Barn & West Elm: showroom and delivered pieces Any big-box or secondhand find: Target, Walmart, and Facebook Marketplace pickups.

Bring us the item and we'll quote it the same day. We arrive with our own tools, drivers, and levels, so you don't have to buy or rent a thing.

Do you anchor furniture to the wall so it can't tip?

Yes, and on tall pieces it's the most important step, not an afterthought. Dressers, bookcases, and wardrobes ship with anti-tip hardware because a loaded, top-heavy piece can tip if a drawer is pulled out or a child climbs it. We anchor tall furniture to the wall studs as part of the build, and we'll mount your TV or floating shelves on the same visit. Got young kids at home? Tell us, and we'll make sure everything tall is secured before we leave.

Do you take the boxes away?

Yes. We break down and haul off all the cardboard, foam, and packaging when we're done. You get the finished furniture and a clean room, with no stack of flattened boxes sitting by the curb for two weeks.

Why professional furniture assembly matters

Flat-pack furniture is built for shipping, not for the person on the living-room floor. One connector seated backward or one panel on upside-down, and you're taking the whole thing apart to fix it. Professional assembly gets the details right:

Square and solid: every panel and fastener aligned so drawers glide and doors sit flush Correct hardware: cam locks and dowels seated right the first time, so the piece holds tight Anti-tip anchoring: tall furniture secured to the wall so it's safe around kids and pets Boxes gone: packaging broken down and hauled away, room left clean

And because we're fully insured, you're covered from the moment we pull into the driveway.

What areas do you serve?

Core service area — Upstate South Carolina: Greenville, Simpsonville, Greer, Mauldin, Fountain Inn, Anderson, Spartanburg, Easley, Taylors, and the surrounding towns.

Extended service area: we travel roughly 100 miles into neighboring metros and states — Hendersonville and Asheville, NC, Charlotte, NC, and northeast Georgia (Commerce, Toccoa, and the Augusta area). A small travel fee may apply to outlying locations.

Serving the Upstate since 2014, with 134+ five-star reviews — your neighbors have trusted us to build it right for over a decade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Eric@boxtobuilt.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

It depends on the piece:

Small items (nightstands, shelves): roughly 20 to 45 minutes each. Dressers, desks, and beds: about 1 to 2 hours depending on part count. Large wardrobes (like a PAX): 2 to 4 hours for the big ones with sliding doors.

We'll give you a clear time window when we quote, and booking several pieces at once is the fastest, best-value way to do it.

Yes. IKEA is one of the most common brands we build, PAX wardrobes included. We follow the diagrams, seat the cam locks right, and anchor tall pieces to the wall.

Yes. If your piece is still sitting at the store or waiting at a warehouse, we can pick it up and bring it to you before we build it, for a pickup fee based on the distance and the size of the load. Just send us the store, the item, and where it's going, and we'll fold the pickup into your same-day quote.

Yes, as long as the parts and hardware are complete. We'll inventory everything before we start, and used pieces sometimes need replacement cam locks after a move, so we'll tell you if anything needs swapping.
Pickup and delivery options available.

Yes. Tall furniture ships with anti-tip hardware for a reason, and we anchor it to the studs as part of the build, especially important in homes with children.
