How much does basketball goal installation cost?

Basketball goal installation in the Upstate varies, with the final price driven mostly by the type of goal and the ground it’s going into.

Three things move the number:

  • Goal type — a portable hoop is a same-day assembly; an in-ground system is a two-stage concrete install that takes more labor.
  • Ground and anchoring — digging in hard-packed clay, breaking or pouring concrete, or cutting into an existing pad adds time and materials.
  • Mount location — roof and wall mounts need solid framing and the right height and setback; some require extra bracing.

Send us a photo of your box or the model number and we’ll give you a firm, same-day quote — no guesswork, no surprise fees.

Basketball Hoop & Goal Installation

What types of basketball goals do you install?

We install every common style of residential and light-commercial goal:

In-ground basketball goals

The premium option — a pole set in a concrete footing for a rock-solid, regulation-feel hoop. This is what most homeowners upgrade to, and it’s the install where doing it right matters most (see the process below).

Wall- and roof-mounted hoops

A space-saving choice for driveways with a garage or a sturdy exterior wall. We locate the framing, set the correct rim height and setback from the wall, and mount it securely so there’s no rattle on a hard dunk.

Portable (rolling-base) hoops

The move-anywhere option with a fillable base. We assemble it fully, fill and seal the base with sand or water per the manufacturer, and check that the height adjustment and rim work smoothly before we leave.

Which basketball goal brands do you install?

Any brand, from any retailer — whether you bought it online, at Costco or Sam’s Club, or at a sporting-goods store. The ones we see most often include:

  • Goalrilla, Goaliath & Silverback — the popular tempered-glass in-ground systems
  • Pro Dunk & Mammoth — heavy-duty in-ground goals
  • Spalding & Lifetime — in-ground, portable, and wall-mount models
  • Any big-box or online set — Dick’s, Academy, Amazon, Walmart, and more

Bring us the model number off the box and we’ll quote it the same day. We arrive with our own tools, ladders, levels, torque driver, so you don’t have to buy or rent a thing.

How does in-ground basketball goal installation work?

An in-ground goal is a two-stage, two-visit job,and that’s by design. The concrete footing has to fully cure before the pole and backboard go on, or the whole system can lean over time. Here’s how we do it:

  1. Locate and dig the footing. We call in utility locates, then dig a hole to the manufacturer’s spec — typically about 16″ wide and 48″ deep.
  2. Set the anchor in concrete. We pour the footing (a large in-ground goal can take around eleven 80-lb bags of concrete) and set the anchor bolt system perfectly level and square.
  3. Let it cure. Concrete needs at least 72 hours to reach strength — we schedule the second visit accordingly, usually a few days later.
  4. Mount and dial it in. On the return visit we assemble the pole, backboard, and rim, bolt everything to the cured anchor, and set the height (adjustable systems dial from 7.5 ft up to regulation 10 ft).
  5. Final safety check. We torque every fastener to spec, confirm the backboard is plumb and the rim is level, and clean up the site before we go.

Why professional basketball goal installation matters

A basketball goal is heavy, tall, and takes real force every time someone shoots, rebounds, or hangs on the rim. Get the install wrong and it doesn’t just play badly — it can become a tip-over hazard. Professional installation gets the details right:

  • Proper anchoring — a correctly sized, cured footing so the goal never rocks or leans
  • Level, plumb setup — a square backboard and level rim so the ball plays true
  • Correct fastener torque — every bolt tightened to the manufacturer’s spec, not “close enough”
  • Manufacturer guidance followed — so your warranty stays intact and the goal performs as designed

And because we’re fully insured, you’re covered from the moment we pull into the driveway. We bring all our own tools. You supply the set and a reasonably level, clear spot to build it.

How long does basketball goal installation take?

It depends on the type of goal:

  • Portable hoops — roughly 1 to 2 hours, start to finish, in a single visit.
  • Wall- and roof-mounted hoops — about 2 to 4 hours, depending on the mount and access.
  • In-ground goals — two visits: the footing pour on day one, then the full build a few days later once the concrete has cured.

We’ll give you a clear time window when we quote, and we work around your schedule for the second in-ground visit. For larger cedar playset installs we travel into neighboring metros within about 100 miles, Hendersonville and Asheville, NC, Charlotte, and northeast Georgia

Portable and wall-mounted hoops are on the lower end; in-ground concrete installs are more because of the extra labor and materials. Send a photo of the box or the model number and we’ll give you a firm, same-day quote.
